LOUETTA JOYCE RICHARDSON ... LouEtta Joyce Richardson, age 72 of Leon, Iowa, the daughter of George Rueben and Hazel Pauline [McCullough] Myers, was born November 3, 1934 in Decatur County, Iowa. She died at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon on Saturday, March 10, 2007.

Lou grew up in Decatur County, Iowa. She married Bobbie Harland "Smokie" Richardson on July 24, 1954. They were parents to four children: Beverly, Bobbie, Nancy, and Tammie. In 1956 they moved to Illinois where Lou operated her own beauty shop. She moved back to Leon in 1993, and opened Lou's Place in Davis City until 1996. Then she worked in the kitchen of the Leon Care Center until her most recent job at the Bear's Den in Leon.

Lou enjoyed doing things for other people to make them happy. She enjoyed being a mom. She looked forward to having lobster on every New Year's.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brother and sister-in-law, Harold "Shorty" and Carol Myers; daughter-in-law, Sharon Richardson; grandson, Daniel; and brother-in-law, Kenny Smith.

Survivors include her children: Beverly Richardson-Alvarez of San Diego, CA; Bobbie Richardson; Nancy Becker and companion Sam Rosa, all of Davis City; and Tammie Buscemi and husband frank of Wheeling, IL; grandchildren: Hulen Alvarez, Tyler Alvarez, Kyle and Irina Becker, Shane Becker, Kevin and Tara Becker, Emily Rosa, Nicole, Joey, and Sam Buscemi; step grandchildren: James Britt, Tabby Martin, Tommie Hinds, Anna Britt and Sandra Butler; great grandchildren: Sean and Lia; sisters, Betty Smith of Lamoni and Jaunita Harden and husband Don of Rudd, IA; and other relatives and friends.
