MOREY, Curtis Eugene, 52, died March 9, 2010. A Memorial Service was held at the Trinity Christian Church on Highway 2 in Leon, IA, on Saturday, March 12 with Rev. Terry Roberts officiating.

Memorial may be given to Lance Armstrong Foundation, National Mail Processing Center, P.O. Box 6002, Albert Lea, MN 56067.

CURTIS E. MOREY ... Curtis Eugene Morey, age 52, passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 following a three year battle with cancer. Curt was born in Clearfield, Iowa, to Richard and Jeannine Morey.

Curt grew up on a farm near Clearfield, Iowa, and moved to the Leon area when a junior in high school. Curt played all sports, particularly baseball and basketball. He played baseball at Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa, during his freshman and sophomore years, then transferred to the University of Iowa, where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. He later received a Masters Degree in Business Communications from the College of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN.

Curt began his career in Minneapolis, working in communications at Touche, Ross & Co., in advertising for Liberman Enterprises, and in marketing for Target Stores Inc. After moving to Wisconsin, Curt worked as a brand manager for a global travel firm, managing vacation packages fro Amtrak nationwide. He later worked for the Mills Corp., overseeing the marketing efforts of the super-size malls in the central part of the U.S. He continued to work from home during his illness as a financial analyst for the Secure Retirement Investment Company in San Ramon, California.

Curt was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed following the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team and the University of Iowa sports teams.

Curt was preceded in death by his father Richard Morey, and step-brother, Michael Hampton.

Curt was devoted family man, survived by his wife, Lynnette Morey of Racine; his son, Ian Morey, currently attending the University of Chicago, IL; his daughter, Megan Morey, a junior at Cast High School and their mother, Lisa Floyd of Racine; parents Jeannine (Guy) Hampton of Leon, IA, and Fran Morey of Leon; brother, Richard (Sherry) Morey of San Ramon, CA; sister, Melody (Kevin) Hill of Wayne, NE; half-brother Shawn (Khara) Morey of Leon; step-sisters, Sherry Smith of Albia, IA, and Tammy (Bert) Muir of Leon; step-brother, Kirk Hampton of Promise City, IA; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and devoted friends.

Curt loved life, had a positive attitude, and held a standard of excellence in all his endeavors. He is loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

..... Something else will take its

..... place,

..... If I quit however it will last

..... forever.
