IMHOFF, Mildred Maxine Percell, 85, died Sunday, February 21, 2010 at the Southern Hills Specialty Care Center in Osceola, Iowa.

Mildred was born in rural Harrison County, Missouri on April 8, 1924 to Edward Morton and Mary Maud [Newton] Percell.

After attending country school in Harrison County she went on to High School in Bethany, MO and then Eagleville, MO where she graduated in 1943. After graduation she took classes at Graceland College in Lamoni, IA. Mildred was on the volleyball team in high school and college.

Mildred met Harry Elmer Imhoff at the home of William and Elizabeth Campbell in Davis City, IA where they attended a series of Bible studies. They were married on June 7, 1948 at her childhood home in Missouri.

She taught at a country school in Harrison County for a short time, then moved to Kansas City where she worked as a secretary for a trucking company. The job Mildred took the most pride in, however, was that of a wife and mother. She enjoyed growing and arranging flowers, gardening, camping with her family, and embroidery. Her volunteer work included being leader in 4-H, Pink Lady work at the hospital, and decades of teaching children in Sunday School.

Mildred is survived by her husband of 61 years, Harry Elmer Imhoff; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Michael Becker of York, NE; son-in-law John Kinyon of Springdale, AR; grandchildren, David and his wife Kristin of Tontitown, AR, Carrie and her husband Christopher of Lincoln, NE, Alex and his wife Maureen and Martha all of York, NE; one great-grandson, Ian; brother-in-law, Roscoe Imhoff and his wife, Milda of Osceola; sister-in-law, Gladys Buckingham of Des Mones; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Those preceding her in death are her daughter, Cheryl Kinyon; her parents, Ed and Maude Percell, three sisters, Ethel Percell, Alta Hancock, and Lenore Percell; three brothers, Clifford, Austin and Earl Percell and their wives; brother-in-law Charles Imhoff and his wife, and brother-in-law John Buckingham.
