DEATH NOTICE:

YOUNG, Arline Elizabeth, 84, of Leon, Iowa, died March 3, 2010 at her home in Leon. Funeral services were held March 6 at Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon with Pastor Dale Short officiating. Burial was at Elk Chapel Cemetery west of Decatur, Iowa.

ARLINE ELIZABETH YOUNG ... Arline Elizabeth Young, age 84 of Leon, Iowa daughter of Charles Franklin and Minnie LaVerna [McLaughlin] Green, was born July 7, 1925 west of Terre Haute in Decatur County, Iowa and died March 3, 2010 at their home in Leon.

Arline attended Wion Country School at Terre Haute, completing 8th grade. Arline said she would still be in 8th grade if it wasn't for her teacher, Her Uncle Fred Cash.

In 1947 Arline married Fredrick Maurice Young for a period of time. Arline had 5 children. She worked as a cook for Central Decatur School District for nearly 20 years, and she continued taking cooking classes during that time. Arline also worked for Catherine Hutchison for 10 years. Arline enjoyed cooking, collecting dolls and dishes, quilting, and going on trips in the summertime with her sisters.

Preceding Arline in death were her parents; son Douglas Young; daughter Connie White; 4 grandchildren: Ronald Young, Lyle Young, Sarah Young, and Jeromy White; great granddaughter Rianna Kauzlarich; and 7 brothers and sisters: Archie Green, Virginia Waddell, Ruth Reed, Ralph Green, Marcine Jones, Helen South, and Dusky Green.

Surviving are her children: Ronald Fredrick Young and wife Connie of Boone, Iowa, Cindy Kauzlarich and husband Mike of Leon, and Carol Young of Leon; son-in-law Ron White of Decatur Iowa; 10 grandchildren: Jerid and DeeDee White of Leon, Tammy and Rob Weise of Brunsville, Iowa, Steven and Tiffany Young of Leon, Travis Kauzlarich of Decatur, Josh and Jennifer Young of Leon, Luke and Kelly White of Chariton, Iowa, Tamara Kauzlarich of LeMars, Iowa, Mary Young of Des Moines, Iowa, LeRoy Beaman of Boone, and Gail Beaman of Winterset, Iowa; 12 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandson; brothers and sisters: Richard and Martha Green of Lamoni, Iowa, Pauline Young of Afton, Iowa, Neil and Donna Jean Green of Lamoni, Ellie Cornett of Mason City, Iowa, and Elmer and Tosh Green of Lamoni; brother-in-law Billy Jones of Lamoni and sister-in-law Fay Green of Lamoni; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
