Decatur County Journal
Leon, Iowa
Thursday, April 30, 1914

Dr. E. WARREN DOOLITTLE, one of our prominent physicians, died at his
apartments at 4:25 last Tuesday afternoon after an illness of about a week
with pneumonia. He had but recently recovered from a serious illness of
several weeks duration.

The remains were shipped to Garden Grove, Iowa, his old home, where
interment was made by the Masonic Lodge of which order he had long been a
member. The Masons of this city furnished an escort to the train.

The deceased was born in Elkhart, Indiana, June 23, 1851. His parents came
to Northern Iowa in an early day where he grew to manhood. He attended the
University of Iowa graduating from the medical course in 1875. He was
married to Miss FLORA WILSON, at Keosauqua, Iowa, in 1878, and to this union
two children, both boys, were born, one of whom died in infancy. One son,
GUY W., of Ottumwa, Iowa, survives to mourn the death of his father.

Dr. DOOLITTLE came to Garden Grove, Iowa, about 30 years ago where he has
almost continually been engaged in the practice of medicine. He came to
Cainsville in October, 1912, and entered into a partnership with Dr. Hoadley
which partnership continued until his death.
