May 14,1914REUBEN CLAYPOOL was born in Polk County, Missouri, October 18, 1840, and
died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. PHOEBE OLLPRESS, near Leon, Iowa,
April 20, 1914, being 73 years, 6 months and 2 days of age.Brother CLAYPOOL enlisted in the 6th Missouri Cavalry in 1864, and served 11
months, being honorably discharged at the close of the war. He was united
in marriage to SERIENE E. HUDSON in 1866. To this union were born seven
children; JOHN P., of Wann, Okla.; Mrs. PHOEBE OLLPRESS, of Leon, Iowa; R.P.
CLAYPOOL, of Caney, Kansas; J.E. CLAYPOOL, of Manville, Wyoming; DIREAN
CLAYPOOL died in infancy and J.Y. CLAYPOOL, of Leon, Iowa.Brother CLAYPOOL was converted at the age of 37 years, and united with the
Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church of near Bolivar, Mo., and lived a consistent
Christian life, and was loved and respected by all who knew him. He leaves
to mourn his departure, six children and a host of friends, his wife having
preceded him to the spirit world seven years ago. He was buried by the side
of his wife near Harris, Arkansas.
