MARY H. HARKNESS was born in Courtright, State of New York, October 17th,
1835, and died at Garden Grove, Iowa, March 30, 1913, aged 77 years, 4
months and 13 days.

She was married to JOHN Q. PARRISH in September 1854, and removed with her
husband to Garden Grove, Iowa, in 1874, where she has made her home ever
since.

She united with the United Presbyterian Church when quite a young girl, and
she and her husband brought their letters to the Presbyterian Church at
Garden Grove soon after their arrival here, about 39 years ago, and she has
been a consistent member ever since.

She was also a faithful member of the W.R.C. of this city. She and her
husband lived together in wedded life for 50 years before death called her
husband home, and they were the parents of two daughters, NANNIE M. and
ELLA S., both of whom have already passed beyond.

She leaves to mourn her departure two brothers, ROBERT and RICHARD, and also
three sisters, Mrs. SARAH WHITE, Mrs. LETITIA OLIVER and Mrs. ELLEN
HENDERSON, and many other relatives and friends.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. John Wilson, at the Presbyterian
Church Tuesday afternoon and then she was laid to rest in the Garden Grove
Cemetery.
