HAROLD H. HILL, 95, DIES ... Iowa City ... Harold H. Hill, 95, of Iowa city, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999, at the Oaknoll Retirement Residence in Iowa City following a lengthy illness.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, at the George L Gay Funeral Home and Crematorium in Iowa City with the Rev. John McKinstry officiating. Visitation will be held today from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with Masonic services at 7 p.m. Burial will be in he Oakland Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established to the First Christian Church.

Mr. Hill was born June 2, 1904, in Decatur County to James Henry and Bertie [Kindred] Hill. He married Grace Fout, June 1, 1930, at the First Christian Church in Iowa City.

Mr. Hill attended school in Pleasanton. He was a barber in the Quadrangle at the University of Iowa beofre retiring in 1970.

Mr. Hill was an elder and a member of the First Christian church in Iowa City. He was also a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, past master of the Ainsworth Lodge, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the White Shrine. Mr. Hill served in the National Guard Cavalary during the 1920's.

He is survived by his wife, Grace; one son, Howard Hill of Charlotte, N.C.; one daughter Susan Henriksen and husband Mike of Ankeny; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Marie Hill, Julia Hill and Marjorie Garwood; three brothers, Gerald Hill, Vernon Hill and Arthur Hill; and one daughter-in-law.
