DEATH NOTICE:

O'GRADY, Dorothy, 90, of Boulder City Nevada, died Friday, December 18, 2009 at Boulder City Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Today, December 23, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Grand River, Iowa. Burial will be in the O'Grady Cemetery located north of Grand River.

She is survived by two sons, Dick O'Grady and wife Rosalie of Boulder City, NV, and Jim O'Grady and wife Karen of Scottsdale, Arizona; one sister and grandchildren.

DOROTHY ELAINE O'GRADY ... Dorothy Elaine O'Grady, age 90 of Boulder City, Nevada, peacefully entered eternal life on December 18, 2009 at the Boulder City Hospital. She was born February 27, 1919 in Decatur County, Iowa to Ora Otis and Florence Elnore [Bullard] Fletcher.

Dorothy married Stephen Eugene O'Grady in 1927. They spent their early married life in Waterloo, Iowa, then settled north of Grand River, Iowa, where she and Gene owned and operated a cattle and grain farm. They retired in 1995 and moved to Boulder City, Nevada.

Dorothy was a rural teacher and taught in several one-room country schools near Grand River. She often rode horseback to teach in those schools. She was known as a kind, gentle lady with a warm smile and would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She enjoyed family, bird watching, and reading. Dorothy was a long time member of the Saint Patrick's Catholic Community.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Gene in July 2006; sister Helen Musselman; five brothers, John, Earl, Charles, and twins Lloyd and Floyd Fletcher; and grandsons, Michael and Douglas O'Grady.

Survivors include her sons, Richard and wife, Rosalie, of Boulder City and James and wife, Karen, of Scottsdale, Arizona; grandchildren, Steven & Lauralee O'Grady, Kathleen Watkins, David & Mary O'Grady, Craig & Lori O'Grady, and Debra & Bill Westeen; granddaughters-in-law, Cindy O'Grady Holmes and Kathryn O'Grady Brown; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Patty Dory of Adel, Iowa; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Dorothy will be missed by all who knew Her.
