GEORGE WASHINGTON ADAIR was born in Montgomery County, Indiana, December 31,
1824. Died in Des Moines, Iowa, January 29, 1912, at the age of 88 years, 1
month and 5 days.

On November 20, 1851, he was married to MARTHA WILCOX, who died in 1865. On
January 22, 1869, he was married to ANNA WALLACE. Deceased is a member of
the Adventist Christian Church of this city. He leaves to mourn his
departure four sons and two daughters, viz.: MILTON ADAIR, of Raridon,
Illinois; LOUIS ADAIR, of Boone, Iowa; GEORGE WESLEY ADAIR, of Leon; VANDONA
ADAIR, of Des Moines; Mrs. MARY CLAREY, of Sugar Land, Texas; and Mrs.
BYRTLE BOTSFORD, of Des Moines; also a step-son, JOHN A. BRIGHT, of Chariton
All of whom excepting the last named and Mrs. CLEARY, were present at the
funeral.

Funeral service was held in the Christian Church at Leon by the Pastor, Rev.
J.S. Coffin, Thursday afternoon, January 21, after which the remains were
laid to rest in the Leon Cemetery.
