O.C. CLAMPITT, son of MR. and MRS. J.H. CLAMPITT, was born in Hancock, Ill., Sept. l2, l886. When two years old, he moved to Mercer County, Mo., southwest of Pleasanton, Iowa. Later he moved to a farm north of Pleasanton where he lived up to the time of his death, June 20, l924; aged 37 years, 9 months and 8 days. He was married to FANNIE GRIFFIN, March 24, l909. No children were born to this union but five years ago, they adopted REVA SIMPSON. He is survived by his wife and adopted daughter.

In l9l7, he was converted and united with the C.U. Church of which he was a member at the time of his death. He was a good neighbor, always ready to help one in sickness or distress. He was a member of Emblem Lodge l84, A.F. & A.M., Pleasanton, Iowa.

Besides his wife and daughter, he leaves to mourn his death, a mother, three brothers and three sisters. The funeral was held Sunday at 2:30 at the C.U. Church, conducted by V.F. Walker. The very large crowd which attended the funeral showed the high respect in which he was held in the community. Interment was made in the Hamilton Cemetery north of Pleasanton.
