ROZET BELLE, daughter of ALMON C. and MARY A. TURNER, was born at Wyanet, Ill., May 2l, l862, and died at the Leon Hospital, March l, l924, aged 6l years, 9 months and l0 days. When about l0 years of age, she came with her parents to Decatur, Iowa, where the family resided about three years, then moved to Kansas and took up claims near the site of the city of Hutchinson. Here ROZET grew to womanhood and prepared herself in the public schools, for the profession of teaching. In l880, the TURNER family returned to Iowa and located on a farm near Decatur. After a season on the farm they took up their residence in Grand River. Here ROZET and WINFIELD CASH were united in the holy bonds of matrimony, October l4, l882. To this union were born three children, ISABEL R. PARKER, who died in l9ll; WILLIAM ALMON, who died at the age of three, and WYNNE K. CORDES who now resides in Leon, Iowa. In l887, MR. and MRS. CASH went to Nebraska, and located near St. Paul. After four years of residence there, they returned to Iowa and located in Decatur, where they resided until l907, when they came to Leon.

MRS. CASH has always taken an active interest in everything which contributed to the social and intellectual life of the community in which she lived. She was an incessant worker and any task undertaken received her best efforts. Adversity and opposition were only incentives to greater diligence. It was through her efforts that the first O.E.S. was organized at Decatur. At that time it was the only chapter in the county. She was also a member of the W.R.C. at Decatur. After coming to Leon, she transferred her membership from the Decatur O.E.S. to the Leon Chapter. She was a member of the White Shrine and affiliated with the Sorosis Club.

The deceased had been in declining health for several years, and had sought relief in mountain climate, at Excelsior Springs, and of various specialists to no avail. Her condition finally became so alarming that she was taken to the hospital for surgical treatment. The operation was entirely successful and for a week her friends were most hopeful. The day before her death, unfavorable symptoms developed, then the heart became weak and irregular, and early in the morning on March lst, ceased to beat.

She is survived by her husband and one daughter, two grandchildren, CASH and CHARLES CORDES, two brothers, JOSEPH, of Black Rock, New Mexico, and OZRO, of Weldon, Iowa, and two sisters, MRS. ANNA SELY, of Arlington, Kansas, and ROXY TURNER, of Wichita, Kansas. Besides these near relatives, she has a number of cousins in the east, and many friends who cannot understand why she should be called away while her mind was so alert and active, and her interest in home and community so great.

Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church, Monday afternoon, March 3rd, conducted by Rev. Habliston, Pastor of the M.E. Church, and the O.E.S. gave their beautiful and impressive burial service.

The interment was in the Leon Cemetery beside her daughter and her mother.

For her there are no more cares, no more sorrows; her hands are folded in rest absolute and eternal; her work is finished.
