ADA ROXEY SHUTTS, daughter of ALLEN and ELVETTA RAMSEY, was born on the old RAMSEY homestead in Long Creek Township, Decatur County, Iowa, on the 2nd day of Dec., l893; and died at her home in Van Wert on April 29, l923; being at the time
of her death, 29 years, 4 months and 27 days old. She grew to womanhood in our midst and was known by a large circle of friends. She finished her school work in Van Wert, graduating from the Van Wert High School in the class of l9l3.

She was married to ELMER RITTER on the 8th day of March, l9l4, and they lived together in this union until August l8, l9l7, at which time occurred the death of MR. RITTER. On the l2th day of September, l9l8, she was married to HOMER SHUTTS and to this union were born two children, one daughter, ANNIS MAXINE, who is still living and one son, ALLEN VERNON, who died on the l9th day of March, l92l, when he was but a few days old.

MRS. SHUTTS became a Christian and united with the Christian Church of Van Wert, January l2, l9l2. She held her membership continuously in the Van Wert Church until the time of her death.

Departing early in life, she leaves besides her husband and little daughter who will miss her sorely through the coming years, her father and mother now fast nearing the time when they will feel most keenly the need of a daughter's care, and her two brothers, CLAUDE and LLOYD, who will miss a sister's cheer and counsel, a host of other relatives and friends whose tears this day bear mute testimony to the love they hold for the departed.

Funeral services were held by the Pastor, B.F. Galloway at the Christian Church, May lst at 2 o'clock p.m. An unusually large company was present at the church and afterward accompanied the remains to the Van Wert Cemetery and stood in respectful silence during the burial service.
