ROLFE EARNEST, son of JOSEPH and MARY DAVIDSON, was born in Ringgold County, Iowa, November l, l900, and departed this life at the home of his parents in Grand River, Iowa, May 7, l923, at the age of 22 years, 6 months and 6 days. He spent all his life in or near Grand River.

He leaves to mourn his death, his father, mother, two sisters, MRS. ESTHER MCCONNELL, of Grand River, and MRS. MARGARET BRIGHT, of Decatur, one grandfather and one grandmother, and a host of relatives and friends. He was stricken with tonsilitis and lived but a few days; although he suffered much pain, he bore it patiently and without complaint. He was of a kind and loving disposition and was loved by all who knew him. His sudden death came as a great shock to the community and the grief-stricken family have the sympathy of all.

Funeral services were conducted at the M.E. Church at Grand River by Rev. Mrs. A.E. Porter of the M.E. Church, of Decatur, after which the body was laid to rest in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
