WILLIAM SILAS DOOLEY was born in Shelvia County, Kentucky, on February 22, l833, and passed away on April 2, l923, at Creston, Iowa at the home of his daughter, MRS. J.S. WOODS. His age was 90 years, l month and ll days.

He moved with his parents to Indiana in l848, and remained there until he grew to manhood. At the age of 20 he was married to MARY ANN MAPES, August 5, l85l. Shortly after marriage they moved to Iowa, where he remained until his death. To this union were born ll children, of which four preceded their father in death. Their mother died March 29th, l895. He leaves to mourn his departure, two sons and five daughters, who are MRS. H.E. VAN PELT, of South Dakota; MRS. MAE SHOCKLEY, of Long Run, Missouri; MRS. MARY E. WHEELER, of Davis City, Iowa; MRS. MAGGIE DUNBAR, of Comanche, Okla.; and MRS. J.S. WOODS, of Creston, Iowa. The sons are J.A. DOOLEY, of Pawnee City, Neb., and W.F. DOOLEY, of South Dakota, also a host of grandchildren and friends.

When just a boy he united with the M.E. Church and has led a faithful Christian life until the end, and was loved and revered by all who knew him. We shall sadly miss him from his accustomed place as we are left to mourn.
Funeral services were held at the M.E. Church in Davis City, Wednesday, April 4, conducted by Rev. W.B. Thompson, the Pastor, and interment was in the Logan Cemetery at Lineville, Iowa.
