Decatur County Journal, April 24, l898:

"Married, Wednesday, April l3, at ll o'clock, at the home of and by JOHN RAUCK, ESQ., MR. FRANK WILLIAMS to MISS MARY CLARK.

"The groom is a son of TOM WILLIAMS, who is well known in the western part of the county as a quiet and industrious farmer. FRANK is a young widower, whose wife died of consumption about two years ago.

"The bride is of a well respected family, who moved from Monroe County, two years ago this spring, who have since then lived two miles southwest of Decatur City. MARY was a quiet and social young woman and was well liked by all who knew her.

"They were congratulated by many friends, who wished them much joy and happiness through life. They were charivaried by a large crowd of boys and men who gave them a hand of friendship and also wished them a happy and enjoyable life.

"They have rented a portion of MR. WILLIAMS' farm for the coming season."

2. THOMAS C.2 WILLIAMS (THOMAS1) was born March 29, 1874 and died November 18, 1960 in Decatur County Hospital, Leon, Decatur County, Iowa. He married ELIZABETH CLARK April 19, 1898 in Decatur County, Iowa, daughter of WILLIAM CLARK and ANGELINE KNIGHT.

OBITUARY OF THOMAS C. WILLIAMS:

"Thomas C. Williams, son of Thomas and Melissa Williams, was born near Decatur [City], Iowa, March 29, 1874, and passed away at the Decatur County Hospital, November 18, 1960 at the age of 86 years, seven months and nineteen days.

He was the fourth son of a family of ten, seven brothers and two sisters. Of this family, three brothers survive. On April 19, 1898 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Clark and to this union two children were born: Clark Everett, who died in infancy, and Margie Cotterill of near Leon, Iowa.

He resided in Decatur County his entire life with farming his occupation, until ten years ago when he and his wife came to make their home with their daughter and son-in-law. His wife passed away the following spring in 1951.

In 1952 he became a Christian and remained faithful until the end. He's survived by his daughter and son-in-law; a grandaughter, Mrs. Billy Jim Manchester, who with her husband, resides in Davis City, Iowa; a grandson Albert C. Cotterill, who with his wife resides in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and 5 great grandchildren. Also surviving are his three brothers, Edgar and wife of Leon, Iowa, Milton and wife of Leon, Iowa, and George and wife of Blue Springs, Nebraska, besides a host of other relatives and friends. He will be greatly missed by all. Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 22 at the Stewart Funeral Home, 2:00 p.m. with Bob Morrow officiating. Interment was in the Hamilton Cemetery [near Pleasanton, Iowa]."

Elizabeth was nearly 20 years older than her husband Tommie. She was nearly 40 when she married. She died at about the age of 93 or 94 years.

From the Decatur County Journal Newspaper, June l3, l90l:P

"CLARK EVERETT WILLIAMS, little son of MR. and MRS. WILLIAMS, was born in Decatur Township, April 4, l900, and died May 3l, l90l, aged l year, l month and 27 days.

Funeral services were held at the home and the remains laid to rest in the Cash Cemetery. With many friends we join in mourning the loss of the only one in this home. Little CLARK was sick only two days when death relieved him of his sufferings."

ii. MARGIE WILLIAMS, b. March 16, 1902, Decatur County, Iowa; d. November 1983, Leon, Decatur County, Iowa.
