Hanner Family Reunion

Five sons and three daughters of Mrs. Hanner are living. One son and one daughter were not able to be present, but the others with their families were present. Those who are present besides the Armstrong family are:
Mrs. Juda Craft and daughter of Belle Plaine.
J. W. Hanner and daughters, of Decatur City.
A. B. Hanner and family, of Stuart.
F. L. Hanner and family, of Perry.B. M. Hanner and family, of Mitchellville.
A brother of Mrs. Hanner, Andrew Jackson Young, of Grand River, is also here, with his family. The children who were unable to attend the reunion are W. A. Hanner of Parsons, Kans., and Mrs. Sarah Wonderly, whose home is in Des Moines, but who is now in the east.

Attempts are inadequate to describe the pleasure that attends this family meeting. It is an event looked forward to by all of them through out the year, and is an ideal manner in which to spend their Christmas holidays. There are enough of them to have a Sunday school Christmas tree of their own, and while to plan and work for so many seems like a stupendous task, they all take hold, and willing hands make light tasks.

One of the main features of the week's gathering was a kangaroo court held on Tuesday evening, when the various members were given the third degree with a vengeance. The week will end on Thursday evening with a hilarious masquerade ball.
There are seventeen grand children in the group, but only one great grandchild, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Armstrong of Redfield. From the 77 years of the head of this family to the 16 months of the little great grandchild is a long step.(Redfield Review, Dec. 28, 1910)
