Decatur County Journal
Thursday, February l0, l9l6

Thursday, January 27th, at Mt. Ayr, Rev. Fr.
Burkhiser officiating, MR.
RALPH DAUGHTON and MISS HELEN HUKILL were
united in marriage.

The wedding was a very quiet one, there being
MRS. TAPSCOTT, of Lamoni,
and DEON DAUGHTON, brother and sister of the
groom, being waiters, and
MRS. JAS. CAIN was also present.

These young people were born and brought up
in and near Grand River and
the only thing that we have ever heard to
their discredit was they had
kept company for so long that people began to
think that they would
never get married. But jokes aside, if a
fellow were to hunt the state
over he could not find a better couple, nor
one that were better
married.

The bride is the daughter of MRS. HIRAM
HUKILL, has been in the employ
of E.A. Evans as head clerk for seven or
eight years and has an
acquaintance that reaches far beyond that of
the ordinary lady, and all
who know her admire her for her kind
disposition and lady-like manners.

RALPH is one of the Irish boys of the
community, which to our mind is
one of the best things we can say, as these
people pride themselves in
their manly behavior and as a rule keep fully
up to their claim. He has
been a practicing auctioneer for years and by
his industry and frugality
has laid aside enough of this world's goods
to begin life.
They will be at home on the JAMES DAUGHTON
farm west of town, after
March lst.

The Local joins their host of friends in
wishing them long life and
unalloyed happiness.

--GRAND RIVER
LOCAL.
