June 24, 1953, being at the time of her death
86 years, 11 months.

She was united in marriage to Charles Jerome

were born eight children: Earl, Ray, Lloyd of
Decatur ; Alva, of Redfield; Ethel Crees, of
Grand River ; Chester of Grandview,
Washington; Verle of Phoenix , Arizona;
and Floyd , of Columbus, Ohio.

Early in life she united with the Lutheran
church. She was also a member oif the
Eastern Star and Rebekah Lodge of Decatur,
Iowa
which was one of her greatest pleasures in
her days of living.

Leaving to mourn are her eight children and
one son-in-law, fourteen grandchildren, and
ten great grandchildren and five
step-grandchildren.

Her suffering was very intense. Everything
that loving hands and medical skill could do
was done.

The Watcher

She always leaned to watch for us
Anxious if we were late
In winter by the window
In summer by the gate
And though we mocked her tenderly
Who had such foolish care
The long way home would seem more safe
Because she waited there
Her thoughts were all so full of us
She never could forget
And so I think that where she is
She must be watching yet
Anxious if we are late Watching from heavens
window
Leaning from heavens gate

Funeral services in charge of Slade Funeral
Home, were held at the Slade Funeral Home
June 27, 1953, conducted by the Christian
minister.
Burial was at Decatur by side of her husband.

We feel indebted to the Rebekahs for the
wonderful dinner that was prepared for us.
Thsanks to all that furnished food and also
to those that worked at the Aid Hall
