Iowa Citians Attend Annual Family Reunions
Chandler-Palmer Assemblage
Many Iowa Citians were present at family reunions, which took place Sunday in the city park and at parks in other cities in Iowa.
In the city park at Wellman Sunday, the 12th annual Chandler-Palmer reunion took place. The group included descendants of John and Sarah Chandler Palmer who were born in 1815 in Pennsylvania and descendants of William K. Chandler, born in 1826 in Ohio. The Chandlers came from England in 1657 and the history and ancestors have been traced back to 1235.
Included on the program were prayer, hymns, greetings from absent members, and Mrs. Ethel Butterbaugh read a letter from the Rev. Mrs. Stephen Sunier, historian, announced the marriage of Bertha Chandler Maske-Eckhardt; the birth of a son, Bruce to Dr. and Mrs. Francis W. Palmer in Salina, Kan., and the death of Mrs. Allen P. Fry. The group read the historian's book and the Chandler genealogy and the annual pictures were taken by Eugene Sunier.

Smith of Marengo, secretary; Mrs. Bertha Chandler Eckhardt of Wellman, treasurer, and Mrs. Elizabeth Chandler of Iowa City, historian. The next meeting will be on the third Sunday in August.
