Decatur County Journal
Thursday, June l0, l9l5

The home of MR. and MRS. WILLIAM H. HAZLET,
of Eden Prairie, was the
place of a beautiful wedding last Wednesday,
June 2, at 6 p.m., when
their daughter FANNY was united in marriage
to GEORGE E. STARKS, a
prosperous young farmer, of Manchester,
Oklahoma. About forty guests
were present, mostly relatives of the bride
and a few friends: MR. and
MRS. F.L. JENKINS and little daughter, of
Garden Grove, MR. and MRS.
J.F. HINES and family, of Grand River, MRS.
O.A. WIESLEY and children,
of Melbourne, Ia., MR. and MRS. ROLLO
CHASTAIN, of Leon, MR. and MRS.
WM. WALTON and family, JAMES HAZLET, Grandma
HAZLET, MR. and MRS. E.L.
SHIRA and daughter WINNIE, MRS. H.W. TOWNSLEY
and sister, MISS JENNIE
RICHARDSON and DAVID MEEK.

The parlor was beautifully and tastefully
decorated with roses and
peonies. WINNIE SHIRA and WM. J. HAZLET were
attendants of the bride
and groom. As the wedding march was played
by MISS MAY HINES, a cousin
of the bride, the bridal company moved into
the parlor, headed by
FLORENCE, the little sister of the bride.
After an appropriate
Scripture reading and prayer the ceremony was
spoken which formally
united the groom and bride as husband and
wife. Then amid smiles, tears
and kisses the happy pair was warmly
congratulated and received the best
wishes of all present.

After this a three course luncheon was served
and the evening pleasantly
spent in singing and visiting. A number of
beautiful and useful
presents were given by the guests and
friends.

MR. and MRS. STARKS left on the noon train
Thursday enroute for
Manchester, Okla., near which place they will
make their home. They are
good, well respected, Christian young people
and we bespeak for them a
happy, prosperous and useful journey through
life together.
