PIERCE-MCGAHUEY MARRIAGE

On Wednesday, December 23, l9l4, at high noon
at the home of MR. and
MRS. J.M. ASHBURN occurred the marriage of
MISS GOLDIE H. PIERCE, third
granddaughter of OLIVER E. MCGAHUEY. The
ceremony being performed by an
uncle of the bride, ELMER MCAYERS, of
Holstein, Neb. The bride and
groom led by the minister, descended the
stairs and took their places in
the parlor where they were united in the holy
bonds of wedlock. The
wedding march being played by MISS ORPHY
MCGAHUEY, a sister of the
groom. Following congratulations after which
they marched into the
dining room where they partook of a sumptuous
wedding dinner.

The bride was beautifully attired in a
charming gown of white messaline
and the groom wore a suit of navy blue serge.
The bride is the second
daughter of MR. and MRS. CHARLES R. PIERCE,
of near Lamoni, and she
numbers her friends by her acquaintances.
The groom is the second son
of MR. and MRS. ED MCGAHUEY, of near
Kellerton, a young and prosperous
farmer and a young man of good habits. The
ceremony was witnessed by a
large number of relatives and friends. They
received many beautiful and
useful presents.

Those attending from a distance were: MR. and
MRS. EARL WISE and son, of
Decatur, the latter being a sister of the
groom; MISS ANNA LOWRANCE, of
Leon; MISS S.F. GATES, of Buhl, Id., she
being a great aunt of the
bride.

Their many friends join in wishing them
unbounded success and happiness.
