LYMAN W. SHIRA, of Butte, Mont., and MISS
ELSIE MITCHELL, daughter of
MR. and MRS. S.G. MITCHELL, of Leon, were
united in marriage at the home
of the bride's parents in East Leon Monday
afternoon at l o'clock.

The ceremony was performed by William J.
Campbell, of Davis City,
evangelist of the Church of Christ. Only a
few close relatives aside
from the parents of the bride, were in
attendance, those being E.L.
SHIRA, uncle of the groom, MRS. SHIRA and
daughter, WINNIE; DOW ASBACH,
of Davis City; MR. and MRS. WILLIAM J.
CAMPBELL, of Davis City.

MR. and MRS. SHIRA departed that afternoon
for Omaha where they expected
to visit for a few days with relatives and
friends. From Omaha they
will go to Cache Junction, Utah, to visit MR.
SHIRA's parents for a
week, after which they will go on to Butte,
Mont., where they will make
their home. MR. SHIRA is an electrician to
which profession he expects
to devote his time in the near future.
At present he is employed on the Oregon Short
Line Railroad with a run
between Butte and Dillon, Mont. He has an
uncle who is superintendent
of the baggage department on that division of
the Oregon Short Line and
he is employed in that portion of the
railroad work. He is an excellent
young man of sterling qualities and has made
many friends in this city
during the time that he has been here. The
bride is well known to our
people. She is a charming and accomplished
young lady who is deservedly
popular with a wide circle of friends. She
is the daughter of one of
our best families. Friends by the score join
the Journal in extending
heartiest congratulations to this worthy
young couple.
