MISS ELLA ONEY is at the World's Fair taking
in the sights and scenes of
Chicago. Her sister is teaching her school
while she is gone.

CHICK ALBEE and JOHN TRUITT did not go to
Missouri as they thought it
was too early to gather corn yet.

JERRY PARKER & Co. are wading in molasses to
their elbows; they say it
will take another week to get through making
it at home.

Some sneak stole nearly all of H.G.
UMPHIRESS' molasses.

WNL. AKES has got his saw mill moved to F.J.
PARSON's where he is sawing
for this neighborhood.

There came almost being a scrap the other
night. Two of the neighbor
boys had some pretty hot words but
fortunately there was nobody hurt.

The boys in this part of the country
commenced work on the C.B.& Q.,
laying steel last Monday. W.C. HEMELRICH
boss.

BIGLEY ATHA got frightened the other night so
that he took the mumps
right away.

Two of R.G. ALBEE's children have the mumps.

JACK MITCHELL was hauling wood to town last
week.

JERRY HOLT dug his potatoes last week; he
says that it did not pay to
dig them.

MISS SARAH TRUITT got one of her fingers cut
pretty badly while cutting
cabbage.

Some movers camped by the school house last
Saturday night.

JACK MITCHELL and J.W. ATHA went to Union
Ridge Sunday School last
Sunday.

JOHN AKES attended Sunday School at Welcome
Sunday.

OLIVER ALBEE and HARRY MITCHELL went to Davis
City last Sunday.

Somebody poisoned some ducks for JERRY HOLT
last Saturday.

BERT ATHA is going to work on the railroad
this fall.

JOHN TRUITT and CHICK ALBEE chopped wood for
BILL STEPHENS.

JOE BARLEAN and his father got back from
Missouri last Sunday evening.
