Garden Grove, IowaA HAPPY WEDDING.
One of the quietest and happy little weddings that has taken place in the
city for a long time, was that yesterday at the REVERE house in which miss
Elizabeth DAWE, daughter of Mr. B. DUWE, was married to Mr. Alvin GATES. Only a few
friends of the contracting parties witnessed the ceremony, which was
performed by the Rev. Stephen PHELPS, of the First Presbyterian church. The bride looked charming in a tan colored silk with empire skirt, and basque
with deep Spanish bretelles(?). She wore a beautiful boquet of white roses
and carried a swansdown fan.The bridegroom wore the conventional suit of black. Mr. GATES is one of the
popular conductors on the Council Bluffs and Omaha motor line.A number of valuable presents were received by the happy couple. They go to
housekeeping at once at 2023 Avenue A.The Nonpareil joins with many friends in wishing them a long life.
