PERSONALS.

Esq. and Mrs. WHEELER visited friends in Wayne county Sunday and Monday.

Thomas HANES went to Valley Junction Friday and visited his son, A. J. over
Sunday.

Mrs. BRADY went to Mt. Pleasant Tuesday afternoon to attend the funeral of
her brother Hon. Frank HATTON, which occurs at that place today.

W. E. BATTLE went to Oskaloosa Monday. He is offered a position as foreman
in a large shop at that place and he went to look the ground over. Ed is a
first class young man and a good barber.

D. E. SMITH returned from Nebraska Tuesday he having traded his farm for a
stock of goods, to which state he will move his family within a couple of weeks.
Se bill for his sale next Tuesday.

Mrs. Anna WOODBURY arrived from Chicago Saturday afternoon. She has already
organized a class in music and will remain here during the summer. Her many
friends at Garden Grove extend her a heart welcome.
