Died in Eden Township, Jan. 8, 1897
Mrs. Phoebe Mitchell, aged 66 years, 7 months and 11 days, the subject of this notice was a victim to creeping paralysis for nearly two years, and perfectly helpless the last five months.
Phoebe Brown was born in Bedford county, Pa., May 17, 1830. Was married to Abraham Mitchell, Aug. 2, 1849, to this union ten children were born, three of whom died in infancy and one at four years of age, at an early age he was converted and united with the M.E. church. Some twenty years since she united with the Church of God and was baptized by Elder E.H. Bolton and remained a consistent member until death. While in health she was ever ready to help in sickness or any time of need and many friends followed her remains to their last resting place, realizing that one who had indeed been a friend was gone.
