Decatur County Journal
November 20, l884

Not having heard from here for some time,
we will send in a few items.

Corn husking is about over and a good crop
it was.

DAN MYERS has returned from the western
part of the state where he has
been for the past two months. He reports
times good.

JESSIE LLOYD thought himself a boy and
jumped out of a wagon and
sprained his leg.

JIM REYNOLDS has built a new barn.

A. BIBBY and SAM FLETCHER have gone to
Nebraska to look after land.

Our school has commenced with J.C. LLOYD
as teacher. We think our sub
directors made a good choice as JOHN is
one among the best of young men.

JOHN PRIEST has gone north of Leon to
gather corn.

MRS. BRUNER has been very sick but is some
better.

Winter has begun, the snow is flying and
the Democrats rejoicing.

--O.J.C.
