The reunion of the Third Iowa Cavalry held
at Bloomfield, Thursday and
Friday, September 23 and 24, was a
splendid success and the old veterans
gathered together at that place on those
two days enjoyed the event
greatly. Reports from Bloomfield state
that the attendance was even
greater than expected. General Cyrus
Bussey, of Washington, D.C.,
was present and was the principal speaker
on the first day of the
reunion. A number of other prominent men
of the regiment spoke at some
time during the two sessions. CAPTAIN
J.D. BROWN, of Leon, was one of
the speakers. The veterans of the
Thirteenth Iowa also met in
Bloomfield at the same time and the old
soldiers of the two regiments
enjoyed a great reunion together.
