One of the happy events of the holiday season was the marriage at
Weldon, Dec. 25, at the home of the bride's parents, MR. and MRS. R.D.
CHAPMAN, of their daughter, MISS LILLY and CLARENCE L. EDDY. The
marriage took place at noon the ceremony being performed by Rev. C.H.
Morris, a former Pastor of the Weldon Christian Church, but now of
Marshalltown. Quite a number of guests, the greater number of whom were
near relatives, witnessed the ceremony. The bride wore a traveling
dress of wool material and carried a single American Beauty rose.

The four course dinner was served in the dining room that was decorated
with Christmas bells and holly. Directly after dinner, the newly wedded
couple drove to Osceola where they boarded the train for Cleveland,
Ohio, their future home. The bride grew to womanhood near and in Weldon
and graduated a few years ago from the Weldon High School. The groom is
the youngest son of his widowed mother, MRS. N.J. EDDY, of this city,
and is a young man of splendid Christian character and is a teacher in a
Civil Engineering College at Cleveland. Both the bride and groom have
been members of the Christian Church almost since childhood. They
certainly can look forward to a prosperous and happy future life. They
are not in the least superstitious as is proven by them choosing Friday
for their wedding day. They possess good health and the husband holds a
business position that is both congenial and lucrative. Their friends
in Weldon and community congratulate them.
