The home of Mr. And Mrs. GEORGE PENNIWELL in north Leon was the scene of a
charming wedding on Wednesday evening, November 23, when Miss MARTHA MAE
HOLLAND, of Wheelersburg, Ohio, and JAMES R. PENNIWELL, of this city, were
joined in marriage. The wedding march was played by Mrs. MAYME THROCKMORTON
a sister of the groom and to the strains of music the bridal pair descended
the stairs preceded by Mr. And Mrs. GEORGE PENNIWELL, and advanced to the
double doors. The Rev. R.M. Shipman, of Lamoni, read the marriage service
of the Methodist Episcopal Church.

The bride was gowned in white silk crepe dechene over white messaline, and
carried a bouquet of white roses. After congratulations had been bestowed
upon the newly married couple, the company was invited to the dining room
where a delightful two course supper was served. Those present were: Jas. F
Penniwell, Mr. And Mrs. S.C. Penniwell, Mr. And Mrs. George Penniwell, Mr.
And Mrs. Virge Penniwell, Miss Edna Waight and Carl Monroe, of Leon, and Dr.
And Mrs. Fred Throckmorton, of Derby.

Mr. PENNIWELL has lived in Leon all his life and has hosts of friends who
congratulate him upon his entrance into married life. Mrs. PENNIWELL is a
lady of refinement and charm and while she is a stranger here, she has
already won a place for herself in the hearts of those who know her. Her
company will be greatly prized in Leon social circles. Their many friends
are showering them with congratulations in which the Journal joins.
