DEATH NOTICE:

HULETT, Randall James, 43, of Leon, Iowa, died at his home in Leon on Friday, October 21, 2005. Funeral services were held at the Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon October 26, 2005 with Rev. Terry D. Roberts officiating. Burial was in the Leon Cemetery.
A Memorial fund to benefit his children has been requested.

RANDALL JAMES HULETT ... Randall James Hulett, age 43 of Leon, Iowa, the son of Harold James Hulett and Mary Margaret Mortimore was born December 12, 1961 at Shenandoah, Iowa. He died at his home in Leon on Friday, October 21, 2005.
Randy started elementary school in Maryville, Missouri. He then continued at Rock Port, Missouri until his junior year at Farifax, MO. He graduated from South Harrison School in Bethany in 1980. He loved sports and was All Conference line backer his senior year. He attended Northwest Missouri State University from 1980 until 1983 majoring in history. He then took a break from school to work. He later graduated from Southwestern Community College with a degree in computer drafting.
In May 1986 Randy married Traci Dawn Ross, who he met in college. They lived in Maryville, where daughters Jessica and Miranda were both born. Later they moved to Bethany, MO, and then lived in Lamoni, Iowa, when son Cole was born. Blake was born in Des Moines. In 1996 Randy married Carolyn Jones Newberry. He became stepfather to Stacy, Amy, Scott, and Mark Newberry.
While at Northwest, Randy served in the ROTC. He joined the Army National Guard's Maryville unit. He later transferred to Clarinda and then Council Bluffs, serving a total of seven years.
Randy loved his family. He also loved nature, sports, bow hunting, walking streams, arrowhead hunting, darts, fantasy football and baseball, playing, watching, and talking football and baseball, and the season of fall. Randy never lost, he just didn't win yet. He assisted coaching little league baseball an soccer. He was a hard worker and was currently employed at Vinylite Windows in Leon.
He was baptized at a young age and was a lifelong member of Watson Baptist Church in Watson, Missouri.
Preceding him in death were his grandfathers: Louis Hulett, Roy Mortimore, and David Kirk; brother Richard Hulett; and infant nephew Joshua Hulett.
Survivors include his wife Carolyn Hulett of Leon; parents: Harold and Julia Hulett of Columbia, MO and Mary and Gary Frohn of Fairfax, MO; children: Jessica, Miranda, Cole, and Blake Hulett and their mother Traci Hulett, all of Des Moines; stepchildren Stacy Smith and husband Randy, May, Scott, and Mark Newberry; brothers: Jeff, Robert, and Francis Hulett, and Bryan and Jason Frohn; grandmothers: Eva Hulett and Mildred Kirk, both of Rock Port; uncles Melvin, Gary, and David Hulett; nieces and nephews; close friends: Mike Rodrigue, Terry Payton; and Jim Cook, his friend and mentor; and other relatives and friends.
