MR. CHARLES HULL resides in section l8 of this township. MR. HULL was born May ll, l839, in Hampshire County, West Virginia. At the age of 25 he was united in marriage to MISS AMELIA LILLER, of the same county. He, in the company with his wife and two children, emigrated from their native state to Illinois and resided there until l873, when he removed to Decatur County and settled on the farm where he has lived ever since.His farm comprises 2l6 acres of good, fertile land. He recently erected a fine palatial residence that cost over $l,000, and he contemplates erecting a large barn in the near future. His herd of cattle consists of 42 head and he has several head of horses; all are of high grades. He raises and prepares for market about one hundred head of hogs each year. MR. and MRS. HULL'S family consists of five children--two daughters and three sons. Their oldest son is married and resides comfortably within the neighborhood. Each member of the family is of a kind and social disposition, therefore they have a numberless host of friends. MR. HULL, has been a regular subscriber of the JOURNAL for the past l6 years. It is a paper that he appreciates to its greatest merits. Best of all he is a member of the republican party, always has been and perhaps always will be during his natural life.
