Below Will Be Found A Short Sketch of a Well-Known Person Who Resides In This Community

Robert D. Bixby

Robert D. Bixby, sales supervisor of Hyde and Vredenburg, Inc., and his family moved to Lamoni last fall but because of his extracting duties he is away from Lamoni so much of the time that he is not a very familiar figure.

Before being named as supervisor of sales Mr. Bixby was an experienced manager having been in Chariton, Knoxville and Red Oak stores. When Mr. Vredenburg's duties became too great it was decided to create the position of sales supervisor and in selecting Mr. Bixby the firm obtained an efficient man.

Mrs. Bixby obtained his schooling in Holden, Mo., where he graduated from high school in 1926. After receiving his diploma he worked for a grocery store at Holden for seven years. He then spent a year on the Kansas City Market and another year in a meat market before associating himself with Hyde and Vredenburg.

He is a member of the Board of Directors and has been with Hyde and Vredenburg, Inc., for the past 3 1/2 years.
