Biography ~ James H. Winget

J. H. WINGET is a native of Ohio, born in Meigs County, December 11, 1861, a son of M. C. and NANCY (BERRY) WINGET. He was reared in his native county, remaining at home until nineteen years of age, when, in 1880, he came to Iowa, and for a time was employed as clerk for WILLIAM BAKER, of Weldon. He was married April 22, 1883, to HATTIE T. EALES, daughter of T. J. EALES, a prominent citizen of Weldon, and soon after his marriage located on a farm of 320 acres belonging to his father-in-law, which he still controls. He is a young man of industrious and economical habits, and has made a success of his agricultural venture. To him and his wife have been born two daughters - EMMA and BESSIE. In politics Mr. WINGET affiliates with the Democratic party.

NOTE: James died November 20, 1910, and was interred at Garden Grove Cemetery, Garden Grove IA.
