(Lewis Publishing Company (1887)), Pp. 520-21:OLIVER TUTTLE, deceased, was born in Barrington, New Hampshire, July 12, 1814, and was a son of JOHN and ESTER TUTTLE, natives of England. He was married in 1837 to Miss Fannie G. GRAY, who was born in Sheffield, Vermont, in [October 31] 1816, daughter of Hanery and Eunice GRAY, of Scottish and English decent; they came to Iowa in 1855, and settled near Eddyville, Mahaska County, where they remained ten years, when they removed to Garden Grove, Decatur County, in October, 1865, where they remained until his death, which took place August 29, 1877, aged sixty-three years, one month, and seventeen days. At the time of his death he owned 300 acres of excellent farm land. To Mr. and Mrs. TUTTLE were born three children, two of whom are living – Orpha G., wife of Dr. W. A. TODD; Carrie M., deceased, was the wife of I. J. BARKSDALE, and left four children – Willie O., Carrie L., Nellie H., and Arthur T. Elizabeth H. S., is the wife of N. T. WILLEY, and has six children – Hattie O., Allie L., C. Natelie, Myrtle, Harvey T., and Mere.
NOTE: Frances "Fannie" (Gray) Tuttle died February 3, 1896, Garden Grove IA. Oliver and Frances were interred at Garden Grove Cemetery, Garden Grove IA.
