GEORGE W. MOOR, carpenter at Garden Grove, was born in Greene County, Illinois, January 18, 1848, son of JAMES P. and FLORENCE (REED) MOOR, native of Kentucky, and at present residing at Wyadotte, Kansas. They were the parent of four children – SAREPTA, JOSEPH C., J. W. and our subject. Mr. and Mrs. MOOR are of Scotch descent. GEORGE W. was reared on a farm, and came to Decatur County in 1875. He was married in Missouri, in 1873, to NANNIE M., daughter of J. O. and MARY H. (HARKENESS) PARISH. He owns a house and lot in Garden Grove. Mr. and Mrs. MOOR are members of the Presbyterian church, and stand high in their community.
