Hi, I'm the gg-granddaughter of James & Lydia =) Here is what I have on them: James West was b. 1817 in Monmouth Co, NJ (Later named Ocean county) Lydia (Elizabeth) I have Miller, you have Johnson was b. 1825 in NJ? James had an older brother Levi West also b in Monmouth Co NJ. Levi married Martha Willis >1840. They had 9 children: Asie , who married a Phelps; Almaldeia (sp?) who married a Winecup; Ed; Will; David J. b. 25 Aug 1864, m. 28 Sept 1897 to Louise Johnston, d. 17 April 1942; and 4 more sons.\line James & Lydia had seven children all born in Monmouth/Ocean Co NJ. They were: Ezekial b. 1846; John Richard b. 1850; Miller William b. 1853; Elizabeth; Alfred b 1859; James H b. 1863; and Susan Malissa b. 1866. I have more exact birth dates, as well as marriages and death dates for these seven children, if you would like them. James and Lydia moved their family to Nebraska when Susan was a baby, they moved to Iowa (Clarke, Monmouth or Davis Co) before she was five years old. James died in 1894 and is buried in Mounts Cemetery in Drakesville, Davis Co., Iowa. Lydia died in 1893 and is buried in the same place.
