Mrs REx Garrett, New Windsor, IL 61465 wishes to contact someone who coulduse a Garrett family history she found among some papers which had belonged to a William Cullison Garrett, no relation to her. This family originated in Pennsylvania, went to South Carolina, then to Ohio in 1809, then to Troy, Davis Co., Iowa in 1849. It appears that the father was William born ca 1872 and married Margaret Ross and had a large family. A son, Robert W born 17 Dec 1797, died 11 Aug 1855, married Sarah Ingram Patterson, born 17 Mar 1799, died 10 Apr 1871, on 21 Aug 1817. Their children (11, 2 dying in infancy)were
Margaret Ross, b 5 Jun 1818, d 4 May 1849, married W A Wise, No Children.
James Patterson, b 21 Nov 1819, died 12 Jan 1894, married Elizabeth Reece in 1850. [He was a doctor in Highland Co., Ohio, had six sons and one daughter.]
Wm Carlyle, b 1 Jul 1823, d 22 Mar 1904, lived in Leon, IA. Twice married, had several ch.

John Milton, b 28 Sep 1828, d 29 Dec 1889, lived in Troy, IA, had several children.
Sarah Jane, b 13 Jan 1833, married John A Weyer, lived in Troy, IA, had several children.
C Burgess, b 15 Jan 1835, Married Frances Fowler, had a son Willard.
Harvey W, b 5 Feb 1837, died 30 Jan 1910, married Mary Sharon, had 2 ch.
Mary Emma, b 20 Apr 1839, d 5 Feb 1912, married AdolphusMiller, had 3 children.
