Scott dies; funeral set

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday for Delbert H. Scott, 52, who died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Davis County Hospital following a short illness.

The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Galen Peckham at the Wagler Funeral Home. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery.

He was born in Monroe County on June 23, 1919 to Rolly and Martha Ames Scott. He had farmed in Davis County and had been employed with John Morrell and Co. of Ottumwa for the past 16 years.

He married Ethel Henderson on Jan. 12, 1941. She survives.

He was affiliated with the Methodist Church and served as a 4-H leader for 15 years.

Also surviving are three sons, Charles of Bloomfield, Alvin and Dan at home; three grandchildren; and five brothers, Albert of Bloomfield, Claire of Highland Center, Edward of Phoenix, Ariz., Roy of Tama and Donald of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.
