She was an active member of the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church and taught Sunday School there for many years.

From the time of her marriage until about a year and a half ago, when ill health forced her to move to the home of her daughter-in-law, Emily Brown of West Grove, Iowa, she lived on the farm south of Bloomfield to which she had come as a bride. She remained at the home of her daughter-in-law until the latter part of April, when she was hospitalized in Bloomfield after having suffered a stoke. Upon her discharge from the Davis County Hospital, she was taken to the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri, where she lived for two weeks. She died Wednesday, May 25, 1977, at the age of 83 years, one month, and 20 days.

Mrs. Brown is survived by two grandchildren, Emily Ann Rudd of Westlake Village, California, and James Norris Brown of West Grove, by her daughter-in-law, Emily Brown of West Grove, by two sisters, Mary Barnett of Washington, Iowa, and Emma Lewis of Fort Dodge, Iowa, by two brothers, William G. Bohi of Havelock, Iowa, and Harvey A. Bohi of Lantana, Florida, and by nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband James Leon October 30, 1963, by her son James Marvin November 29, 1968, also by her parents, Jacob and Elizabeth Bohi, by sisters Elizabeth Clayton and Ola Bohi, by brothers, John, Jacob, Thomas, and Philip Bohi.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 28, 1977, at 2:00 p.m. at Priester Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Quentin E. Johnson officiating. Music was furnished by Lyle Stirling soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Rosemary Priester. Burial was in the Bloomfield IOOF Cemetery.
