RAMONA SCHOOLEY

Ramona Nina Schooley, 63, of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away January 3, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. She was born February 26, 1952 in Bloomfield to Feliciano and Guadalupe Atilano Reyes. She married Ron Schooley April 16, 1977 in Eldon, Iowa. She worked as a hairdresser for over 20 years, helped at the Bloomfield Livestock Market and was a volunteer with the Lord's Cupboard, the Bloomfield Welcome Center, and with Meals on Wheels. Ramona was an active member of the Church of the Open Bible in Bloomfield, acting as a secretary, Sunday School Teacher and a Youth Group Leader. She enjoyed reading her Bible, shopping, watching movies, traveling, and planting flowers. She also spent countless hours watching her sons' baseball games, which she loved. Ramona also loved to visit with people and really cherished her time with her grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Ron Schooley; two sons, Roman (Elizabeth) Schooley, Tyler (Kallie) Schooley both of Bloomfield; five grandchildren, Hannah, Haven, Houstin, Anderson, and Tytan Schooley; six brothers, James (Betty) Reyes, Felix (Helen) Reyes, Joseph Reyes, Antonio Reyes, Pete (Shari) Reyes, Steve Reyes; and five sisters, Mary (Larry) Cassidy, Juanita (Gary) Cox, Dolly (Tony) Benge, Margaret Morrissey, and Elizabeth (Mitch) Williams.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be at 20:30 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 2016 at the Mark Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Courtney officiating. Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday with the family present to greet friends from 5-8:00 p.m. at the Mark Baptist Church. Memorials have been established to the Lord's Cupboard and to the Davis County Hospital Lab and Outpatient Departments.
