Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” November 2, 1959:

Mrs. Jack Bailey

BLOOMFIELD.–Mrs. Jack Bailey, 62, of north of Unionville, wife of a former Appanoose county sheriff, died at the Davis county hospital Sunday at 7:05 a.m. after a lengthy illness.

She was Nora Williams, daughter of Charles H. and Tasie Shiesel Williams, and was born in Davis county May 16, 1897. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist church.

Surviving besides her husband are three sons, Lloyd R. and Curtis M. Bailey of Centerville and Winifred L. Bailey of Des Moines; two sisters, Mrs. Mamie Gallespie and Mrs. Edith Paris of Ottumwa, and three brothers, Dolphus and Ralph Williams of Bloomfield and John Williams of Drakesville. There are four grandchildren. A son died in infancy and a daughter in 1930. Two sisters and a brother also preceded her in death.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Curl funeral home here. The Rev. Hugh Sawyer of Grace Tabernacle Baptist church at Centerville will officiate. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery at Ottumwa.
