Veteran Rail Employee Dies
John J. Price Lived In Community 60 Years; With Burlington 45 Years.
John J. Price, 78, for 60 years and Ottumwan and 45 years of those an employee of the C. B. Q. Railroad, died at 12:10 AM today and the home of his stepson Edward Clarkson, Ottumwa route 1. Mr. Price was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Price and was born in Davis County, December 2, 1858. Since 1929 he had been retired from active railroad work. Surviving are one son, James Price of Ottumwa route 1; a stepson Mr. Clarkson of Ottumwa route 1, and a sister Mrs.
William Lyle of Ottumwa. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 PM in the home of his son, John Price, Ottumwa route 1, conducted by the Rev. Charles Leaming. Burial will be made in the Memorial Lawn cemetery. The body will be taken from Johnson's funeral Chapel to the home Friday at 4 PM.
