Rites for Mary Bonar

Mary M. Bonar, 79, Route 1, Fairfield, died today at 4:30 a.m. at Jefferson County Hospital. She had been in failing health the last several years.

The service will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne L. Bartruff officiating. Burial will be at Drakesville Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Monday. Visitation will be Sunday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bonar was born Oct. 8, 1899 in Davis County, the daughter of Milton and Martha Korn Townsend. On Oct. 21, 1967, she married Irwin K. Bonar, Route 1.

She was a former seamstress and nurse's aide at Davis County Hospital, Bloomfield.

She is survived by her husband; three stepdaughters, Helen Busby, Newark, Ohio, Ramona Shafer, Fairfield; Jerene Bauer, Chula Vista, Calif.; eight stepgrandchildren and three great-stepgrandchildren.

She is also survived by two brothers, Paul Townsend, Moline, Ill., and Claude Townsend, Sund City, Ariz. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
