Know all men by these presents that we Reuel Cain, George Fitzgerald & Israel Kister are held and firmly ground unto Miles Tattcock Judge of Probate of Davis County Iowa Territory and his successors in office in the sum of five hundred dollars for the faithful payment of which sum we hereby bind ourselves our heirs, executors or administrators jointly and severally as witness our hands and seals this 18th day of November A D one thousand eight hundred and forty four. The condition of the aboveobligation is this, whereas Reuel Cain has this day taken out letters of administration on the Estate of Cornelius Cain deceased late of said county, Now if the said Reuel Cain as administrator shall make and return into the probate court writhin 3 months a true inventory of all the real estate, and all the goods and charrics, rights and credits of thedeceased which have or shall come to his knowledge or possession. Shall administer according to law, all the goods, chattels, rights and credits of the deceased and the proceeds of all his ral estate that may be sold for the payment of his debts, which shall at any time come to the possession of any person for him. Shall enter upon oath a true account of his administration within one year, used at any other time when required by the judge of probate. Shall pay any balance remaining in his hands upon the settlement of his accounts to such person as the judge of probate shall direct, and shall deliver into the Probate court the letters of administration in case any will of the deceased shall be thereafter proved and allowed. Then the above bond to be void otherwise of full force. November 18th, 1844, Examined and allowed by me, Miles Tattock, Judge of Probate of Davis County, Iowa. To the probate court of Davis County, Iowa Territory- The undersigned Administrator of Cornelius Cain deceased begs leave to report as follows- Sale bill of property of the Said Estate sold on the 21st day of Dec 1844, as provided by an order of probate court dated Nov 27, 1844.
