Timothy I. Macklin, 27, was called home October 19, 2011 at his home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 22 at the Redfield Christian Church with burial at Panther Creek Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at the church where family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. McCalley Funeral Home in Adel is handling the arrangements.
Tim was born December 5, 1983 as a special needs child with down syndrome to Jerome and Joyce Macklin. He enjoyed dancing, singing, and sports. Tim was an avid wrestling fan. He graduated from Waukee High School Self program in 2005 and attended Genesis in Indianola, Home Care Transportation, and Link-Up. He was currently attending REM of Iowa in Adel and was a candle lighter at his church. Tim competed in the Special Olympics and was in the Best Buddies of Iowa.
He is survived by his parents; siblings, Vanessa (Jeff) Giesman and daughter Kylie; Ryan (Tania) and children, Tyler, Calvin, and Lillian; Kevin (Lindsy) and son Cooper; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
