Lyle J. Van Langen passed away Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Legacy Point. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with burial following at Resthaven Cemetery.
Lyle was born April 24, 1934 in Webster City, Iowa the son of Orman and Clarice Van Langen. He married Peggy Jo Reid on December 28, 1955. Lyle was a housing contractor and owner of Van Langen Home Builders. He loved trips to Fort Meyers Beach in Florida and the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.
Lyle is survived by his children, Steven (Melinda) Van Langen of Des Moines, Craig (Kim) Van Langen of Urbandale and Jo Lynn (Matt) Yeutsy of Urbandale; grandchildren, Amanda Winslow, Danielle Van Langen, Alexandra Van Langen, Jared Van Langen, Chase Van Langen, Kayla Van Langen, Brenna Yeutsy, Amber Yeutsy and Lydia Yeutsy; and three triplet great grandchildren, Noah, Evelynn and Cora. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Jo.
A family greeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, October 31, 2011 at Iles Funeral Homes, Westover Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
