Derek Lee Santry, 20, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2012, at Mercy West Lakes Hospital in West Des Moines, Iowa. He was born April 29, 1991 in Des Moines, to Tracy Pullen and Richard Santry, Jr.

Derek was an animal lover. Growing up he was an avid fan of the San Francisco Giants and Florida Gators. He enjoyed playing video games and skateboarding.

Derek is survived by his mom and dad, Tracy and Erik Frye; brother, Zack Santry; grandparents, Sharyn Frye, David and Pat Breckenridge, and Bobbie Sala; as well as other family and numerous friends.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, February 16, 2012, at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines with burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at the funeral home.
