Memorial services for Barbara L. Piper, 70, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 15 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Perry. The Rev. Harold Schroeder officiated.

Piper died Thursday, July 13 at Perry Manor.

Virginia White and Gene Knepper provided musical selections for the service.

Burial of the cremains was in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter.

The daughter of George and Alice Brummer Hover, she was born March 24, 1925 in Atlantic. She married Kirtland Piper on Dec. 6, 1953 in Omaha, Neb. The couple had lived in Perry for 31 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents and one brother.

Survivors include her husband Kirtland of Perry; one son, John Piper of Des Moines; and one sister, Donna Gierlatowicz of Redbank, N.J.
